DR. OLIVIA ANKU-TSEDE, Senior Consultant, is a Notary Public and an Investment and Corporate lawyer of more than 20 years standing at the Bar. She has extensive experience in providing advisory services and research in Corporate, Investment, Legal Risk Management, Employment, Financial, Insurance, Pensions Law and Transactions. She has in depth experience in Regulatory & Policy Reviews and Drafting, as well as Transaction Advisory Services and Compliance Audits. She worked as in-house Counsel from 2005 to 2008 at Gold Stream International London, UK (a financial and money transfer company) where she was responsible for all corporate, properties and legal matters including advising on corporate, acquisition and disposal of their landed properties and investment transactions and represented the company at all negotiations. Olivia established the Centre for Law, Research and Training (now CLIRT) in Stoke on Trent, UK, in 2008 which she managed until her return to Ghana in November 2009. Before leaving for the U.K. in 2005, she worked as a Solicitor, Compliance Manager, and a SEC-licensed Investment Advisers’ Representative for Gold Coast Securities Limited in Accra, from 2004 to 2006. She also acted as the Funds Manager for the company during that period and facilitated the creation and promotion of the Gold Fund, a unit trust scheme. Prior to that, she had worked as Associate with Awoonor Law Consultancy, Accra from 1999 to 2002, and with Akufo Addo, Prempeh & Co, Accra from 1995 until 1999. She worked as legal counsel and Business Law Lecturer at the Accra Polytechnic, from 1996 to 2005. She has been a resource person in several training programs in Ghana and in the U.K in corporate, properties, financial and investment law, legal risk management and portfolio management.
Olivia holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana, Legon and a Qualifying Certificate from the Ghana School of Law. Olivia has also completed post-graduate studies leading to the award of a Ph.D. Degree from the Manchester University School of Law. Olivia has published extensively in a number of top international journals. Her publications and research interests include Financial Markets, Enterprise Development & Regulation; Employment Relations & Organisational Development; Organizations, Institutional Design & Regulation; as well as Business, Social Change & Public Policy. Olivia is certified by the General Teaching Council of Scotland as a Qualified Teacher in Business Management for higher education. She is licensed by the National Pensions Regulatory Authority as an independent Trustee for pension funds. She is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, the International Bar Association (IBA), the General Teaching Council of Scotland (GTC Scotland), the Socio-Legal Studies Association, UK (SLSA), Law and Society Association, USA (LSA), Africa Academy of Management (AFAM) , Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the International Society for Development and Sustainability (ISDS).
